Ottawa – Robert H. Buckland, 77 of Ottawa, died Friday, January 9, 2004 at 3:00 am at Blanchard Valley Regional Health Center in Findlay.

Mr. Buckland was born July 28, 1926 in Hancock Co. to Louis and Clara (Heiing) Buckland who preceed him in death.

On September 22, 1949 he married Ina Riepenhoff who survives in Ottawa. Other survivors include 2 sons: Michael J. (Karen) of Winter Haven, FL, and Mark R. (Amy) of Holland, OH; 2 daughters: Nancy K. Wannemacher of Ottoville, and Carolyn S. (Paul) Schmersal of Ottawa; 8 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; 2 step great-grandchildren; and a brother: Ray (Jean) of Ottawa.

He was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Art, Carl and Paul and a sister: Marie Cutler.

Mr. Buckland retired from Philips Display Components in mechanical maintenance. He was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa; a WWII Navy Veteran; member of Ottawa American Legion; Ottawa VFW; Ottawa Knights of Columbus; Ottawa Eagles; Railfans Train Club; Quarter Century Club of Philips Display Components; and volunteer for Ottawa American Legion and Sts. Peter and Paul Church.
A mass of Christian burial will begin at 10 am Monday, January 12, 2004 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Ottawa with Fr. Tom Hemm officiating. Burial will be in the Church with military rites by the Ottawa Legion and VFW. Visitation will be from 7-9 pm Saturday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday at LOVE FUNERAL HOME, OTTAWA.

Additional services include a scripture service at 3 pm, Legion and VFW service at 7 pm, and a rosary by the Knights of Columbus at 8:30 pm all Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Sts. Peter and Paul School Endowment Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice.
