Jerrald M. Butler, 82, of Bellingham, MA passed away on July 29, 2021 at Milford Regional Medical Center. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth J. (Philbrook) Butler and the loving father of Carol J. Wyatt of Moosup, CT and Julie M. Gardner and her husband Stu of Franklin, MA. He leaves his cherished grandchildren Angela Short and her husband Greg of Pomfret, CT, Jerry Ferguson of Woonsocket, RI and great-grandchildren Haley and Nicholas Short and Lily Ferguson. Born in Northampton, MA on February 13, 1939, he was the son of the late John and Florence (Brodeau) Butler. He was the brother of the late Denford Butler and Janice Mangano.

Jerrald was a longtime resident of Bellingham since 1972. He was a Retired United States Navy Veteran attaining the rank of MMC E-7, Machinist Mate Chief Petty Officer serving from 1956 - 1975. He received the Good Conduct Medal/Award for Service ending July 1, 1972; Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Cuba); Navy Expeditionary Medal (Cuba); Meritorious Unit Commendation; National Defense Service Medal; Vietnam Service Medal; Vietnam Campaign Medal W/Device; Navy Achievement Medal; Letter of Commendation from CNO Dated October 18, 1973. He was a member of the VFW Post 7272 in Bellingham and the American Legion Post 75 in Franklin.

Jerrald worked at Kmart in Milford from 1989 - 2000 and Two Guys Department Store from 1975 - 1982. Devoted to his family and will be greatly missed.

Calling hours are on Tuesday, August 10th from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Cartier's Funeral Home, 151 South Main Street, Bellingham, MA. Interment will be on Wednesday, August 11th at the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, MA. Procession will be departing the funeral home at 11:15am for burial at 12:45pm. In lieu of flowers donations in memory of Jerrald M. Butler to the Dana-Farber Cancer Center, 20 Prospect St., Milford, MA 01757 would be appreciated.
