My name is Daniel Elkins, they call me Danny.
I grew up on a farm in Church Point Louisianna. In January 1960 when I was 17 years old I went to New Orleans and joined the Navy. After Boot Camp in San Diego California I reported aboard USS Skagit AKA 105, and was assigned to 1st Division. In 1961 I went to work in the paint locker and stayed there untill I left the Navy in May 1963. I worked as a Maintenance Electrician for DSM Copolymer Inc. retired in December of 2006, and live in Baton Rouge LA. |
