James A. Jordan, 85, of Princeton died January 20, 2012 at home. He was born April 28, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa to Charles W. and Madge P. (Aikin) Jordan.

He served in the United States Navy from 1944 to 1950 aboard the USS Skagit and USS Mountrail in the Pacific.

Following his service he worked as a building maintenance engineer at Memorial Hospital in Long Beach, California and for BancTexas in Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Bernice Loy Jordan; a son from a previous marriage, William C. Jordan, his parents, a brother, Charles B. and sisters, Kathryn, Gladys and Violet.

He is survived by his sister Virginia and brother Marion "Bud" Jordan both of Des Moines as well as many nieces and nephews.
