Pete was born on September 29, 1931 in San Rafael. He was the last living of ten offspring born to Marina and Peter Turrini of Livemmo, Italy.

Pete was the quintessential resident of old San Rafael. He attended St. Raphael's School and San Rafael High School, and was a long-time parishioner at St. Raphael's Church.

He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, stationed on the U.S.S. Skagit in the Korean Peninsula.

Pete retired as Captain from the San Rafael Fire Department after a thirty year career. First and foremost, Pete was devoted to his family, and was never happier than when spending time with them. He was our story-teller, fix-it man, protector, confidante, teacher, and provider. He split his time on the golf course between playing the game and foraging streams for orphaned balls. He will be missed by all, but remembered deeply for his devotion to family and friends, work ethic, and good humor.

He is survived by Lucy Turrini, his loving wife of 59 years; sons Peter and Joe, and daughters Julie and Christina, as well as their spouses Rebecca Zapanta, Lisa Woodward, Matt Lieber-man, and Alessandro Patrignani; grandchildren, Aldrin, Leahnna, Joel, Gracie, Lucy, and Gio, and great grandchild Jayelle.
