David Price III, 84, of Bangor, passed into the loving hands of Our Lord at Lehigh Valley Hospital Muhlenberg on Thursday, Nov. 5, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Margaret Ann "Peggy" DeMont Price, in 1989. Mr. Price was a rural delivery mailman for RD 3 in Bangor for 22 years and retired from the United States Postal Service in 1988. He was an avid golfer and continued his passion for golf until his recent illnesses. Mr. Price was a naval veteran of World War II, Gunner's Mate 3rd class, serving aboard the U.S.S. Skagit. He was aboard the Skagit in Tokyo Bay when the Japanese surrender agreement was signed aboard the U.S.S. Missouri.

He was a member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church in Wind Gap. Survivors: Mr. Price is survived by his only son, David Patrick, and his wife Sharon Marie of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and grandchildren, Caitlin Mae Anna Price and Patrick David James Price, also of Pittsburgh; he is survived by nieces Patty Price Transue of Bangor and Judy Rothrock of Springfield, MO.; and nephew Evan Williams; he is also survived by his loving companion of 16 years, Faye Jones, and her loving family: son, Greg and Wendy Wilhelm of Wind Gap; daughter, Ivy Boswell and husband Bruce of Hoover, Ala; and daughter, Diane Foxman and husband Steve of Lansdale; grandchildren, Greg Lynn of Atlanta, Danielle and husband Andrew Montalbo of Wind Gap, Tyler and Kelsey Boswell of Hoover, Ala., Aaron Foxman of Lansdale, and Adam Foxman and wife Melissa of Boston; and great-grandchildren, Jocelyn and Mason Montalbo, and Noah and Heidi Foxman.

Visitors will be received at Guerro and Ruggiero Funeral Home, 126 Pennsylvania Ave., Pen Argyl, on Sunday, Nov. 8 beginning at noon, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. Memorials: Donation in lieu of flowers may be made to St. Mary's Episcopal Church, 340 N. Lehigh Ave., Wind Gap, Pa., 18091.
