William Duane Sillett Sr, 73, Russellville, Al passed away on Friday, February 06, 2009.

Bill served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard USS Skagit AKA 105 from 1954-1956.

Visitation was held 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Shoals Catholic Church, Tuscumbia, on Monday, February 09, 2009. The funeral service followed at 1:00 p.m. at the church. Officiating was Father Patrick Tierney. Interment was in Holy Cross Cemetery, Tuscumbia.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick & Carrie Sillett.

He is survived by his wife, Velma Sillett; children, Beverely Nichols (Neal), Russellville, William Sillett, Jr., Russellville, Kimberly Cabaniss (Lance), Russellville; sisters, Rita Urchasko, Greencastle, Indiana, Charlotte Forsyth, Marietta, OH; grandchildren, Nick Nichols, III (Tiffany), Lexington, Bradley Nichols, Russellville, Alexandria Cabaniss, Russellville, Jackson Cabaniss, Russellville, Shian Sillett, Russellville; great-grandchildren, Caleb Nichols, Lexington, Bella Nichols, Lexington; 14 nieces & nephews.

The pallbearers will be family and friends.

He was a member of the UAW Local 255, Sheffield, AL and the UAW Local 1219, Lima, OH.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 1st Floor West ECM nurses, Dr. Kalliath, Kisha Martin, Good Samaritan Hospice, Rachael Redick, Mona Gusmus, and to Our Lady of The Shoals Catholic Church.
